FARMHOUSE Could Become Heritage And Meeting Venue

A RUNDOWN farmhouse in Port Glasgow could be turned into a community facility under new plans.

Parklea Branching Out want to restore the building at their site beside the Clyde at Parklea.

Their proposal has been backed by Inverclyde Council, with a bid now submitted to the Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund.

A council report states: “The proposal seeks to restore the currently vacant farmhouse and bring the property back into productive use as a community heritage and meeting facility, preserving the building while providing a valuable resource for local residents and community organisations.”

If the funding bid is successful, it’s expected the project would be taken forward in the 2027/28 financial year.

The Parklea site has seen investment in a number projects in recent years including Parklea Branching Out’s hub and a destination playpark opened by the council.
