THE family of Greenock businessman and former Morton chairman Douglas Rae have decided to have family flowers only at his funeral, and are enouraging people to donate to Alzheimers Scotland instead.
Mr Rae’s widow Adrienne Rae would love the money people save from not buying flowers to go to the charity, which is a cause dear to her heart.
A Just Giving page has been set up to allow mourners to do this. Click here to visit it.
Mr Rae’s death, at the age of 87, was announced on Sunday.
His funeral will take place on Monday (2 July) at 1pm at Lyle Kirk, Newark Street, Greenock.
Morton fans will be able to pay their respects as the cortege passes Cappielow Stadium, Sinclair Street around 12.40pm.
