Inverclyde Leisure has announced it is holding a Doggy Swim Day at the pool in Albert Road.
At 4.30pm on Sunday 29 September — as the pool’s loyal human fans rue the end of heated alfresco swimming for another year — Inverclyde’s canines can take the plunge for the first time.
There’s been a mixed reaction on the leisure trust’s Facebook page.
Comments range from: “Fantastic idea on the last day of the season” to “Let dogs be dogs — are they going to be using the gym next?” and: “It’s a step too far, a disgusting step too far!”
