DETECTIVES Have Charged A Dozen People In Greenock Fires Inquiry

POLICE Scotland have confirmed that 12 people have now been arrested and charged in connection with a series of alleged wilful fireraisings in Greenock last year.

Seven incidents, which are believed to have been linked, occurred between July and September.

Locations included Union Street, Cumberland Road, Wellington Street, Kincaid Court and Holmscroft Avenue.

Detective Superintendent Gerry McBride of Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division said: “Officers worked tirelessly to investigate this spate of alleged crimes in what was a concerning time for the community.

“I would like to thank all those involved for their dedication and hard work as well as the public for their ongoing support.
