Greenock 168 for 9 from 50 overs (2 points)
Renfrew 172 for 6 from 37.3 overs (25 Points)
GREENOCK lost by four wickets to second-top Renfrew at Glenpark on Saturday.
It was a match with nothing at stake for Greenock who occupy a mid-table position. But the win for Renfrew keeps them on track for promotion to the Western Premiership One and the possibility of snatching the title from West of Scotland.
A significantly depleted Greenock team gave a good account of themselves and, with a fuller side, may well have won the match.
Batting first, Greenock had regular 2nd XI player Usman Mansoor to thank as he held together the home innings for 41 overs and scored 48 runs.
He showed great concentration, and considerable batting skill, and was the mainstay of the team’s eventual total of 169 for the loss of nine wickets. Cal Henry with 23 runs, Jonathan Hempsey 19 and Greg McDougall 15 were other batters who got into double figures.
In reply, Renfrew were made to work hard for their win despite a number of Greenock’s normal front line bowlers being unavailable.

Only visiting team captain Hussanain Haider made it to 30 runs while a number of others got into double figures as Renfrew scored 172 and passed Greenock’s score having lost six wickets.
For Greenock, it was another 2nd XI regular, Kurakulasuriya Leema, who gained the best bowling figures with two wickets for 28 runs from four overs while Sehmat Pandher also collected two for 37 from 10 overs.
Greenock 2nd XI Maintain First Place
Glenpark 82 for 8 wickets from 26.5 overs (25 points)
Vale of Leven 81 all out from 31.5 overs (3 points)
Greenock’s 2nd XI (Glenpark) only just overcame Vale of Leven at Millburn Park on Saturday to maintain their top-of-the-table position.
The makeshift Glenpark XI, which had a number of regular players elevated to the 1st XI because of availability issues, bowled Vale out for 81 runs after 32 overs with Emily Norris bagging four wickets for 16 runs from 10 overs.
In reply, Glenpark struggled to 82 for the loss of eight wickets and just managed to get the victory needed to keep their league title hopes alive.
Himal Chhetri with 24 runs and Sahil Safi with 17 not out were the top scorers.
