THE Glenpark XI made it two wins out of two in the Western Championship Three.
Greenock’s 2nd XI overcame Milngavie 2nd XI by seven wickets at Glenpark on Saturday.
Milngavie batted first but, apart from a brief flurry from their third-wicket pair, were unable to cope with Glenpark’s bowling.
Samim Haidary with 4 for 11 and the ageless Dave Sharma with 4 for 25 were the men that did the damage.
In reply, Glenpark stuttered to 22 for 3, but skipper Eddie Ahmad joined Rakesh Kumar to see the team safely home to victory. Kumar finished unbeaten on 25 and Ahmad on 22.
Greenock 1st XI had a free Saturday with their fixture against Glasgow Accies at New Anniesland moved to Sunday 18 May as the Glasgow ground was unavailable.
This was because Accies were hosting a prestigious rugby fixture against the Barbarians to celebrate the centenary of four Accies players featuring in the Grand Slam-winning Scotland team of 1925.
