Inverclyde Now Logo MAN Attacked With A Mirror During Greenock Robbery

ROBBERS forced their way into a Greenock town centre flat and smashed a mirror over a man’s head.

The 40-year-old needed hospital treatment following the incident in Sir Michael Street around 10.15pm (Saturday).

Two men went to the property and, when the door was answered to them, they pushed their way past the victim’s partner.

After attacking the man, they took a number of items and left.

The injured man was taken to hospital and needed stitches in a facial wound.

Detectives say the robbers remain unidentified. They were wearing dark clothing. One was about 6ft tall. The other was about 5ft 6in tall, wearing a grey cap.

Police urge anyone who saw the men in the area to contact them on 101.
