GREENOCK Camera Club’s meeting tonight (Thursday 26 October) will include members seeing how they can improve their photography through competition.

Club president Campbell Skinner will take members through the competition process and give pointers on what judges are looking for plus tips on how to improve the pictures from ordinary to great.

After the break, new members will introduce themselves and some of their images to the club as part of understanding their interest in photography and how the club can help them develop their photography

The club meets at Greenock Golf Club’s premises in Forsyth Street, 7.15 for 7.30pm. New members are welcome.

Last week, the club had an informative and enjoyable evening hearing from local wedding photographer Darren Mitchell who spoke about his journey from hobbyist photographer to a much sought-after wedding photographer.

Darren took the audience through his early wedding experiences, finding his own style; a breakdown of how he shoots a wedding, the preparation routine he employs and the equipment he takes to the wedding shoot.

He also talked the audience through a number of his signature shots and explained in detail lighting set-up, props and posing techniques he used to achieve them.
