3rd Gourock Golf Night 

The younger boys in the 3rd Gourock Company section welcomed PGA Golf Professional Derek Watters. Derek took some time with the nine boys to explain his role in golf locally and then took the boys through some coaching routines. The boys showed great enthusiasm during the night and displayed some undoubted talent. The Company are grateful to Derek for giving up his time and will undoubtedly take up his offer to visit Gourock Golf Club for some outdoor coaching in the spring.

Anchor Boys’ Cinema Trip

There was a great turnout of 131 boys and officers for the Anchor Boys’ trip to see the new Batman Lego film. Organisers thank the Waterfront Cinema staff and local BB groups for supporting the annual outing.

It was great to see so many boys dressed up as their favourite character including Batman, Robin, Superman, The Joker, Captain America and even Mario to name a few.

Masterteam Competition 

The Company Section Masterteam competition was held in Lyle Kirk Halls, Five teams representing 1st and 12th Greenock companies, 2nd and 4th Port Glasgow and 3rd Gourock company faced 10 rounds of questions. In the chair as question master was Les McMahan who appeared on TV quiz shows 15 to 1, The Weakest Link and Eggheads. The lead changed on various occasions but 2nd Port Glasgow’s efforts were rewarded eith the winners’ medals. The team was the only one to achieve maximum score in BB knowledge.

Runners-up were 12th Greenock while 1st Greenock, 3rd Gourock, and 4th Port Glasgow took the remaining three places. Mr McMahan is thanked for his excellent chairmanship as are 1st Greenock for hospitality and accommodation.
