COLLEGE Forced To Close Campus Again

27 January, 2026 | Local

WEST College is having to shut down its main Greenock campus again because of heating problems.

The Finnart site re-opened today after being closed for 12 days, but this afternoon the college said “unforeseen issues” meant the complex would be out of action again for at least the rest of the week because of further issues with the heating and hot water system.

The college stated: “Despite our best efforts and those of our external contractors, several unforeseen issues have arisen after our return to the Finnart building today which means we will have to shut again for the remainder of this week.

“Courses will revert back to the Waterfront Campus or online until next week and we will ensure professional services teams are in place to support learning activities.

“Once again, sincere apologies regarding the ongoing disruption and challenging circumstances.”
