RECOVERY service Moving On Inverclyde is holding a firewalk to raise funds for its new base in Port Glasgow.
The event, delivered in partnership with Firewalk Scotland, will take place on Saturday 6 September at Branchton Community Centre, Greenock, from 6 to 10pm.
The charity hopes to raise £3,000 for its Port Glasgow town centre hub which will serve individuals affected by drug and alcohol use, offering a safe, welcoming, and stigma-free space where they can receive specialist support.

Moving On Inverclyde is calling on the people of Inverclyde and beyond to get involved, by signing up to participate (over-16s only), sponsoring a walker, or making a direct donation via their JustGiving page.
A spokesperson said: “Our £3,000 target is not an arbitrary figure; it’s exactly what we need to transform an empty room into a safe, professional counselling space and fund the sessions that take place within it. Without this, we can’t fully open our doors to the people who need us most.
“Every ember crossed represents a life touched by recovery,” said a Moving On Inverclyde spokesperson. “By taking part or supporting the firewalk, people are directly helping someone in Port Glasgow access the counselling and support that could change or even save their life.”
