Inverclyde Now Logo CAFE Proposal Added To Takeaway Plan For Empty Town Centre Shop

9 November, 2020 | Local, Planning

REVISED food and drink plans have been drawn up for a vacant Greenock town centre shop.

Inverclyde planners have already agreed that the former Aitken’s ironmonger premises at 43 Cathcart Street can be turned into a hot food takeaway.

Now, a further application has been made seeking to make the unit into a cafe as well.

Drawings of the proposed layout show a fryer, a pizza preparation area and a coffee preparation area.

Tables with seating for around 18 people are proposed.

The property was also latterly run as Tight Lines fishing tackle and supplies shop.

The application is pending assessment by officials.
