BBC Arts Radio Programme Broadcasting From New Greenock Venue

BBC Radio Scotland’s flagship arts and entertainment programme, The Afternoon Show is coming to Greenock to host a special broadcast marking the opening of the town’s new gallery, The Wyllieum.

As well as hearing all about the space, which is dedicated to local artist George Wyllie, the show will celebrate Inverclyde’s cultural offerings through the years.

People can tune in to hear the show on Thursday (25 April) from 1.30 to 4pm with presenter Michelle McManus at the helm.

She’ll be joined by a whole host of guests including live performances from local musicians, David Laing, poet Liz Lochhead and popular duo The Laurettes,

The gallery is in the waterfront cruise ship visitor centre and opens on Friday.

Michelle said: “It is going to be an amazing show in Greenock, celebrating the life of the great artist George Wyllie and the Inverclyde area.”
