20MPH Sign Installation Dates Changed

5 March, 2026 | Local

NEW dates have been announced for work to install 20mph speed limit signs on the A78 in Greenock.

Contractor Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will now undertake the work between Monday 23 March and Friday 27 March, between 8am and 6pm.

There will be single lane closures managed by temporary traffic lights.

The work was originally due to take place from 16 to 20 March but has been changed because of operational delays.

Transport Scotland state: “This initiative supports the Scottish Government’s commitment to improving road safety and reducing casualties by introducing 20 mph limits on appropriate roads across Scotland by March.
