Laird Street at Container Way

MOTORISTS face disruption in Greenock as work starts on preparing diversion routes that will operate while the Bullring Roundabout is being replaced with a traffic-light crossroads.

The traffic major project is due to get underway in January as part of the £24million Central Greenock scheme.

Ahead of work beginning at the Bullring, Inverclyde Council has scheduled road closures that are required in order to prepare alternative routes.

Laird Street will be closed at its junction with Dalrymple Street from Monday 5 January to Friday 23 January while mini roundabouts are installed for the Bullring diversion route.

Laird Street’s junction with Container Way will also be closed during the same period.

Belville Street at Ratho Street and East Crawford Street

Ratho Street will be closed from its junction with Belville Street to Oakfield Terrace from Monday 5 January to Friday 16 January while work is carried out to reprioritise the junction layout for the Bullring diversion route.

East Crawford Street will be closed between Belville Street and Bawhirley Road from Monday 12 January to Friday 30 January also to facilitate reprioritising the junction layout for Bullring diversion route.

Details of the Bullring diversion routes have still to be announced by the council.
