DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously assaulted in Greenock.
The attack took place on Weir Street at the junction with Sinclair Street just after midnight.
The 23-year-old victim was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, for treatment.
Detective Inspector Nikki Wake said: “We’d like to thank those members of the public who have contacted police already, and are asking for anyone else with information to please come forward.
“If you saw anything suspicious in the Weir Street or Sinclair Street areas, or believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 0010 of 6 June, 2023.
