WITNESS Appeal After Man Assaulted And Robbed In Gourock

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked and robbed in Gourock.

Officers were called to Cardwell Road around 12.20pm on Sunday after the 42-year-old man was pushed to the ground, assaulted and robbed of personal items.

He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment and staff describe his condition as stable.

The suspect is described as white, around 6ft, and of slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark green shorts. He was last seen running in the direction of Steel Street.

Detective Constable Megan Mitchell said: “I urge anyone who was in the area of Cardwell Road and Steel Street around the time of the incident on Sunday afternoon, who either witnessed this assault or anything suspicious to contact us.”
