WITNESS Appeal After Fire Started At Flats

DETECTIVES are investigating a deliberate blaze at flats in Greenock.

Emergency services were called to the common close of a block of flats in Dellingburn Street around 4.25am on Sunday.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire. Nobody was injured.

Police enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for the assistance of the public.

Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: “Thankfully nobody was injured as a result of this dangerous and reckless act.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, or who has any information which may assist us, to get in touch.

“I am also keen to hear anyone with potential private CCTV, dashcam or video doorbell footage.”
