Inverclyde Now Logo WHALE Dies After Getting Stuck In River Near Glasgow Airport

ANOTHER of the northern bottlenose whales which have been in the Clyde for weeks has died, despite the efforts of a team of rescuers.

Coastguards from Greenock were among those trying to save the creature and also provided safety cover after the stranding report on Black Cart Water this morning.

Fire and rescue crews from Glasgow Airport also helped at the incident

British Divers Marine Life Rescue have confirmed the whale died.

Another of the whales from the pod died at Blairmore, Cowal last week.
