NOMINATIONS have closed and voting is underway in the Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards.
For the organisers, Chris Jewell said: “We encourage everyone to vote for their preferred sportspeople, coaches, teams, clubs and volunteers at www.inverclydesportspersonality.com.”
People can vote as often as they want. Voting ends at 6pm on 26 April.
Chris added: “Once again we are indebted to our sponsors to make these special awards happen, including Inverclyde Council, Inverclyde Leisure, Autotec in Port Glasgow and Red McKellar Opticians.
“We are greatly looking forward to another glittering awards dinner on Friday 17 May in Greenock Town Hall and all our nominees (the top five voted for in the Team category) will receive a ticket to this event, with one ticket per team and club in these categories.
“We hope supporters will get behind their nominees and want to be present at the awards dinner; tickets, which include a drink on arrival, a three-course meal with drinks on the table, and tea and coffee are available from Smiths Sports in West Blackhall Street in Greenock, tel 01475 888555, and cost £40.
“The proceeds from the evening will be used to provide further grants to aspiring local sportspeople to help them get as far as they can to the top of their sport.”
