Inverclyde Now Logo VITAL Family Service In Plea For More Volunteers So It Can Reopen

3 July, 2020 | Noticeboard

VOLUNTEERS are needed for a centre which lets children of estranged couples meet up with the parent who no longer lives at home.

Inverclyde Family Contact Centre is making plans to re-open following the coronavirus pandemic but many of its helper are in vulnerable groups.

The service, based in Greenock town centre, provides a safe and neutral environment where children who are caught up in the breakdown of their parents’ relationship can spend time with the parent who no longer lives at home.

It is staffed by a part-time co-ordinator, assistant co-ordinator and a rota of volunteers who are required for three hours on a Saturday around once a month to help out.

Opening hours will initially be from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays with possible week day afternoon openings later.

People who are not in Covid-19 vulnerable groups and are interested should email mfoggie@familycontact.org.uk or call 07918 965154.
