VIRTUAL Gig Raising Money For Man On Inverclyde And Inverclyde Women’s Aid

17 February, 2021 | Local

TWO up-and-coming local bands feature in an online gig to be shown this weekend in aid of Inverclyde charities.

Proceeds from the pre-recorded performances by Black Dove and Strange Dimensions will go to Man On Inverclyde And Inverclyde Women’s Aid.

The gig, which will last about an hour, has been organised by promoter B12 Entertainment and will be broadcast on their Facebook page on Saturday (20 February) from 8pm.

The sets were filmed in a studio by a professional crew and have been edited and produced to ensure the best possible listening and viewing experience.

Viewers will be able to donate before, during and after the event via the fundraising link.

Gareth Gonet of B12 Entertainment said: “I am delighted to be putting on this exciting event in aid of two fantastic local charities.

“As a promoter and manager of a number of acts, I’ve had to get creative through the pandemic in order to continue to provide opportunities for acts and live music for the public so I hope people enjoy what we’ve come up with here.”

Strange Dimensions is an eclectic Greenock-based four-piece formed in February 2020, featuring lead singer and rhythm guitarist Paul Leslie (17) and lead guitarist Liam Docherty (16), who are cousins, whilst the rhythm section comprises siblings Anna and John Jack who play drums and bass respectively. All members are still at school.

The band has yet to play live because of the pandemic, so the event will be the first time most people will have had the opportunity to hear their music.

Indie rock band Black Dove has sold out venues such as Glasgow’s historic King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and has featured at a number of festivals.

Man On Inverclyde is a peer support service helping men with their mental health. Inverclyde Women’s Aid provide specialist domestic abuse services to women, children and young people.
