VILLAGES To Get Mobile Post Office Service

A MOBILE post office is to be provided in Inverkip and Wemyss Bay.

The service starts from week beginning 14 February and follows closures of the Post Offices in the villages.

The Inverkip mobile service will be a permanent measure.

It will operate on Mondays, 1.30 to 2.30pm, and Thursdays, 1.15 to 2.15pm, at the car park beside Sainsbury’s, Main Street.

The Wemyss Bay mobile post office will be temporary while the Post Office continue to seek a permanent solution.

It will be run on Mondays, 11.45 to 12.45pm, and Thursdays 11.30am to 12.30pm, at the car park outside Spar, Ardgowan Road.

The Post Office state: “A mobile service, which is a travelling Post Office aboard a specifically designed vehicle that brings Post Office services and retail products to communities without relying on fixed premises, is a tried and tested way of maintaining service to smaller communities.”
