A FILM promoting Gourock’s shops, restaurants and scenery has done such a good job its makers are even being contacted by people inquiring about living in the town.

Gourock Community Council produced the video which has been viewed more than 150,000 times across various social media channels.

Vice-chairman William Wilson said: “We are getting emails from people asking about the area and saying they are coming to visit.

“We are also hearing from people wanting to come and live in Gourock.

“Some of the messages are from expats who miss the area — the video reminds them of home.

“Others have no relationship with the area. They saw the film and are curious.”

The three minutes of footage highlights the town’s attractions including shops, food and drink outlets and Clyde views.

Local business owners and their staff feature throughout saying ‘welcome’.
