19 October, 2020 | Planning

PLANNERS have agreed that vacant ground in central Greenock can be used for car service and sales.

Inverclyde Council officials approved valeting, servicing, tyre-changing and repairs use for the site in Regent Street.

Second-hand car sales are also proposed for the land beside the M&J builders’ merchant yard, next to the railway.

There will be an office made out of a steel container plus canopies over the valeting, servicing and tyre-changing bays.

A planning department report stated: “It is considered that the proposed uses are compatible with the other commercial uses in the surrounding area.

“Bringing the site back into use is to be welcomed.”
