URGENT Plea From Police Over Stolen Car Number PlatesPOLICE are urging the public to keep a lookout after number plates were stolen from two cars in central Greenock.
The registration plates were taken from a grey Ford Fiesta — M28 THO — in Mount Pleasant Street and from a blue Ford Fiesta — SJ06 KZL — on Dempster Street.
The thefts took place between 10:30pm on Tuesday (29 September) and 7:30am on Wednesday (30 September).
Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: “Police are asking the public to be mindful that these plates could be used on other vehicles to disguise the identity for the purposes of committing other offences.
“If anyone observes these registrations on any other vehicle than the described genuine cars please contact police urgently.”
Any witnesses to the thefts are also asked to call police on 101, quoting incident KC03660920 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
