TRIBUTE has been paid to former Inverclyde councillor Gerry Dorrian, who passed away at the weekend.

Gerry served his constituents in Branchton, Braeside, Larkfield, Inverkip and Wemyss Bay for 15 years, from 2007 until 2022.

During his time with the council, he was chair of the general purposes board and vice-convener of the health and social care committee.

He is remembered for his commitment to supporting local veterans and he served as the council’s armed forces champion.

Councillor Stephen McCabe, leader of Inverclyde Council, said: “Gerry had a good relationship with all his fellow councillors, regardless of their political persuasion and will be sorely missed.

“On behalf of the council and people of Inverclyde, I send my condolences to Gerry’s wife Anne and his family.”
