Inverclyde Now Logo TEN Years Ago… It Was Curtain Up On The Wedding Singer With Greenock Light Opera Club

IT’S 10 years since Greenock Light Opera Club (GLOC) staged the Scottish amateur premiere of comedy musical The Wedding Singer.

The high energy, hilarious and colourful show — based on the movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore — had only recently been released for amateurs and GLOC were the first Scottish club to perform it.

The club attracted lots of new young local talent with the choice and, with the good mixture of young energy and experience, guaranteed themselves a hit with the four-night run of the production at the Arts Guild Theatre in November 2009.
