TEENAGERS Injured In Greenock Disturbance

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to contact them after two teenagers were attacked in Greenock.

The disturbance happened around 2.30pm on Thursday in the Greenock Sports Centre car park on Nelson Street.

Two male youths, aged 16 and 17, suffered serious injuries and were taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital. They were released following treatment.

Detective Constable Ruth Elder said: “Our enquiries so far indicate that a group of youths were seen in the area at the time and they left the car park in the direction of the town centre.

“We are keen to speak to them or anyone else who may be able to help with our investigation into this incident.

“We believe several members of the public may have seen what happened and we are asking them to come forward.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3231 of 1 February.
