AN 18-year-old driver has been charged after she allegedly failed a drug test.
Police on patrol observed the teenager in a car parked at Newark Castle car, Port Glasgow at 11:40pm on Sunday.
Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: “On speaking to the driver it was allegedly apparent that she was intoxicated.”
She will be subject of a report to prosecutors for alleged road traffic offences.
Area commander Chief Inspector Paul Cameron said: “I am astonished that some people think it’s acceptable to drive whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
“My message is simple — you are putting lives at risk, don’t do it or you will get caught.”
