A 19-YEAR-old man was seriously injured early today in a hit-and-run collision.
He was walking on Ardmore Road near Selkirk Road, Port Glasgow, around 1am when he was hit by a car that failed to stop. The car is believed to be a dark Vauxhall Insignia.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where medical staff describe his condition as critical. The road was closed for around 12 hours.

Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “At this time we don’t believe this to be a targeted hit and run. The injured man had been walking home from a night out in Port Glasgow. We urge the driver of the car to contact police.
“The area is residential and is a busy road, so it’s possible that other cars travelling on the road will have dashcam footage, or homes will have doorbell cameras, that could have captured helpful footage.
“Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area so we’d encourage witnesses or those with information to speak to them or call 101 quoting incident number 0188 of 2 November 2025. Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
