TAXI fares in Inverclyde look set to rise by seven per cent from next month.
Inverclyde Council has agreed the increase in the maximum tariffs.
Taxi meters are due to be adjusted between 1 and 8 December.
The change will mean that hirings from ranks or flag hirings begun between 6am and 11pm will cost about £4.80 for the first mile and about £2.60 for each additional mile.
Between 11pm and 6am, the first mile will be about £4.90 (about £2.60 per further mile).
Higher charges apply on bank holidays and at Christmas and New Year.
