Inverclyde Now Logo TAKEAWAY Plan For Empty East End Shop Is Rejected

The application involved empty premises to the left of New Canton Chinese takeaway

PLANNING officials have refused permission for shop premises in Greenock’s East End to be turned into a hot food takeaway.

They rejected the change-of-use application for 76 Belville Street saying there were potential noise, odour, parking and traffic safety issues.

Drawings lodged with Inverclyde Council showed a small seating area, a pizza oven and preparation area.

The proposed opening hours were noon to midnight seven days a week.
