STRIKE Action Will Shut Down Inverclyde’s Train Routes

16 June, 2022 | Local, Noticeboard

NO services will operate on Inverclyde’s railway lines during three one-day strikes next week.

Members of the RMT union who work for Network Rail are taking industrial action over pay.

The strike days are Tuesday (21 June), Thursday (23 June) and Saturday (25 June).

ScotRail say services will operate on only a few routes — Glasgow to Edinburgh, Lanark and Hamilton/Larkhall and Edinburgh Bathgate.

There will also be disruption to ScotRail services on the days following each strike -– Wednesday (23 June), Friday (24 June), and Sunday 26 (June) caused by the reopening of signal boxes at different times across the country.

David Simpson, ScotRail service delivery director, said: “Regrettably, this strike action by RMT members of Network Rail means that we will not be able to operate the vast majority of our services during the period of strike action.

“Customers should expect significant disruption to services next week, including on the days between strike action.

“On the five routes where we are able to operate a very limited service on strike days, we’re advising customers to seek alternative means of transport and to only travel if they really need to.”
