GREENOCK’S Beacon arts centre has revealed the line-up for its popular pantomime.
Still Game favourites Mark Cox and Jane McCarry will return to the stage for the production of Sleeping Beauty.
The pair say the Beacon is their “favourite place in the whole world” and the “best theatre in Scotland”.
They will be joined this year by River City’s Jimmy Chisholm, who reprises his popular pantomime dame character, as well as Lee Samuel and Shannon Swan.
Directed by Tony Cownie and written by Alan McHugh, the show is produced in-house by the Beacon, with co-directors Lesley Davidson and Karen Townsend taking the reins.
Audience members will be transported to the magical land of Inverspango, where the wicked sorceress Carabosse plots to seize the throne from her sister Morag, and casts an evil spell to get her way.
The Beacon panto had a record-breaking year in 2024, with almost 21,000 people attending performances of Jack and the Beanstalk.
The 2025 run gets underway at the start of December, and there will be multiple performances running over the festive period until Hogmanay.
Tickets are on sale now at www.beaconartscentre.co.uk.
Karen Townsend, co-director of the Beacon Arts Centre, said: “We are thrilled to reunite our stellar panto cast and bring joy and laughter to audiences again this year.
“We are rightly proud of our show, which is a real team effort between the cast, crew, and staff in every corner of the Beacon.
“The panto is not only a theatrical highlight that brings many people here for the first time, it also creates and supports jobs and training in the local area and is a vital resource for Inverclyde.
“We can’t wait for people to come and join us.”
