SPECSAVERS in the Oak Mall is celebrating 30 years of providing eyecare and hearing services in Inverclyde.

The store opened in 1992 and has since completed thousands of eye examinations and hundreds of hearing appointments.

Lesley Brown, store director, said: “This is a huge milestone for Specsavers as a key part of the Greenock community. It’s a remarkable feeling to know that the team and the store has helped generations of customers in the town.”

To commemorate the anniversary throughout 2022, the store is planning a series of activities to raise awareness and funds for local causes and charities.

Last year, Specsavers Greenock invested £200,000 in a store expansion, creating two additional testing rooms and increasing its audiology services in order to offer more appointments.

Lesley added: “We have watched the team and the store grow from strength to strength. In addition to expanding the store, we’ve seen the number of staff members at Specsavers Greenock grow from 12 to 35 in just the past six years.

“Looking to the future, we hope to further develop our relationship with local people, businesses and community groups alike as well as continuing to support the training and development of our own team.”
