GREENOCK Running Legend Completes His 200th Parkrun

GREENOCK parkrun stalwart Richard Hodelet celebrated his 200th parkrun.

Local running legend Richard has completed 123 of his parkruns at the Esplanade five-kilometre course with others at Pollok, Linwood and Eglinton.

Richard's first parkrun was at Pollok Park in April 2009, five months after parkrun first came to Scotland. He achieved the 100-parkrun milestone in May 2015.  

Eight-five people took part in the weekly event on Saturday, many of them in fancy dress.

Three runners achieved personal best times -- Claire Monaghan improved by 17 seconds, Gillian Clayton by 44 seconds and Jeanette Purves by 49 seconds.

Male Placings:

Chris Mooney was first over the line in 17:24

Michael McLoone was second over the line in 17:28

Daniel Doherty was third over the line in 17:28

Female Placings:

Claire Monaghan was first (26th overall) over the line in 23:53

Lynsey Mooney was second (29th overall) over the line in 24:13.

Lynne Harrison was third (32nd overall) over the line in 24:36.

Highest Age Grades

Michael McLoone -– 87.21 per cent for the time 17:28 (second overall).

Chris Mooney -– 76.72 per cent for the time 17:24 (first overall).

Daniel Doherty -– 76.43 per cent for the time 17:28 (third overall).
