GREENOCK Parkrunners Celebrate Faster Times

SEVENTEEN of the 97 participants at Greenock parkrun on Saturday improved their times over the five-kilometre Esplanade course.

Nine of those taking part were running for the first time at parkrun in Greenock.

Personal best (PB) times were achieved by John O'Donnell, Martin Power, William Martin, Paul Beaton, Michael Allan, Laura Ritchie, Lyall Black, Callum Black, Billy  Loughlin, Stewart Crookston, Claire Monaghan, Kelly Wilson, Joe Bulloch, David Coonan, Margaret Ann Scott, Aimee McEleny and Graeme Hanna. 

First home for the men was Andrew White off the back of a marathon, half marathon and an ultra marathon over the last three weeks. He was followed by Andrew Osborne and John O'Donnell, with a PB, in third.

First home for the ladies was Laura Ritchie, who was running her 254th parkrun and earned a PB, followed by Lorna Coyle and Claire Monaghan in third, who also improved her time.

Andrew White was first over the line in 17:17

Andrew Osborne was second over the line in 17:22

John O'Donnell was third over the line in 17:27

Female Placings:

Laura Ritchie was first (21st overall) over the line in 21:12

Lorna Coyle was second (30th overall) over the line in 22:18

Claire Monaghan was third (44th overall) over the line in 24:10

Andrew White -– 83.99 per cent for the time 17:17 (first overall)

Lorna Coyle -– 83.41 per cent for the time 22:18 (30th overall)

John O'Donnell -– 80.04 per cent for the time 17:27 (third overall)
