SINGLE Goal Clinches Points For Morton

MORTON won their first league match of the season, against Alloa Athletic, both sides finishing with 10 men.

Cameron Salkeld scored in the 10th minute of the Championship game at Cappielow.

Alloa Athletic had a man sent off in the 60th minute, with Morton’s Josh McPake also shown a red card, in the 74th minute.

The match was played behind closed doors, because of Covid-19 restrictions, and streamed online.

There was a minute’s silence before the game in memory of former players, fans and those in the wider community who have died during the pandemic since the last league fxture in March.
