SIGNIFICANT Decrease In Rate Of Covid Infection In Inverclyde

THERE has been a big drop in Inverclyde’s covid infection rate, according to latest weekly figures.

The district’s seven-day positivity level was 260 per 100,000 of the population during the week up to 16 January, down from 438.

This compared with the Scottish average level of 210 during the same period.

The district has dropped from having the highest rate in Scotland to being seventh out of the 32 local authorities. Glasgow was highest on 324.

There were 203 positive cases in Inverclyde over the seven-day period, according to Public Health Scotland.
