FIVE Scout patrols braved the Greenock and District Scouts Hardie Webster camping competition.
The weekend challenge, held at Everton Scout campsite, near Inverkip, gives young people the chance to develop skills such as teamwork, time management and outdoor cooking.
The self-led patrols set up their own campsites, including patrol tents, dining shelters and store tents, and cook meals over campfires.
Challenges included shelter-building, a camp escape room, navigation, archery, and team-based activities.
The competition was won by a patrol from the 6th Group, with the 10th securing both second and third places.
Two of the teams were made up of Scouts from different groups, giving a great example of collaboration .
A spokesman for the organisers said: “The Hardie Webster remains one of the most challenging Scout camping events in the country.
“The overall standard was exceptionally high. It was inspiring to see young people prove their ability to be self-sufficient, work as a team, and rise to challenges that would test even adults.
“A huge thank-you goes to the dedicated volunteers and young leaders who worked together to deliver the programme, and to the Scouts themselves for their commitment, resilience, and enthusiasm.”
