ROADWORKS To Affect A8 Westbound Traffic

MOTORISTS are being warned of disruption on the A8 approaching Inverclyde from Sunday (21 November).

Contractor Amey will be carrying out carriageway improvements between Langbank Roundabout and Woodhall Roundabout.

The work will take place from Sunday 21 November until Tuesday 30 November 2021, between 8pm and 6am, each night.

A single lane closure of the westbound carriageway, will be required, with speed reduction to 40mph. A temporary barrier will be in place.

Full overnight closures of the same stretch of road will be needed on Monday 22 November and Tuesday 30 November safely install/remove the temporary barrier.

On those nights, westbound traffic will be diverted on to the A737 at M8 junction 29 and then on to the A761 before re-joining the A8 at Newark roundabout.

Access to the footpath beside the works will be restricted between 8pm and 6am. A traffic management operative will be present to assist and escort pedestrians.
