RESCUE Team Get Response Unit Upgrade

19 January, 2021 | Local

GREENOCK’S busy Coastguard team has taken delivery of a more modern rescue vehicle.

The unit has been adapted to suit specialist mud rescue stations such as Greenock, with more storage for equipment plus drop-down roof bars to allow quicker deployment of a stretcher.

The crew posted on their Facebook page: “We’re looking forward to testing out its capabilities.”

Greenock Coastguard Rescue Team, which is based in a building at Greenock fire station, responded to more than 140 incidents locally in 2020 including water rescues, lost and missing person searches, vessels in distress, marine mammal incidents and ordnance/pyrotechnics found on the shoreline.
