THERE was major traffic disruption on the A8 in Greenock after fire broke out at the recycling centre at Pottery Street.
The blaze started on Saturday morning and led to the main road being completely closed for several hours.
Later in the afternoon, one lane of the A8 was open in each direction.
Firefighters have the incident under control but remain at the scene to ensure it is fully extinguished.
Inverclyde Council said recycling centre will remain closed on Sunday adding: ” Anyone with recycling is asked to wait until further advice about access is available.”
