ARE you a budding Andy Murray or perhaps a future Alex Marshall? Then Ardgowan Club is the place for you.
How do you fancy banishing those lockdown blues by getting out in the fresh air and on to the bowls and/or tennis lawns of the Ardgowan Club?
Situated within the picturesque Ardgowan Square, Greenock, the club offers the ideal opportunity to take up something new or dust off old skills.
There will be a range of initiatives running over the summer to give anyone who is interested the chance to try out bowls and/or tennis.
If you have ever thought ‘I’d like to play bowls’, well here’s your chance. Ardgowan are holding Come and Try sessions on Saturdays (until 10 July) at 10.30am
Bowls is a sport played by all on equal terms — no matter your ability, all are welcome at Ardgowan. The club has facilities to aid those that may have a disability or mobility problems and we will provide bowls. Members will be on hand to give you tips and help get you into the swing of it.
If after a few sessions on the grass at the club you want to continue playing and become a member, you can have the first month’s membership free.
If you are interested in coming along then contact the club via:
You can also find us on Facebook @ “Ardgowan Club Bowling Section”
The Tennis Section at Ardgowan is also running several initiatives over the coming months. So, if you are keen to try out tennis for the first time or have played before and want to take it up again, then get yourself down to Ardgowan Tennis Club.
We have activities for all, with kids and junior coaching, aerobic tennis to get your heart rate up on a Wednesday evening and the Judy Murray Foundation will be running events for kids and adults.
Whether you are a keen tennis player or a beginner there is a warm welcome at the club. For those starting out, the club will be running taster and rusty racquets sessions in June and July with our club coaches providing their expertise to get you on your way. This is open to non-members and we very much look forward to giving everyone a chance to try tennis out.
If you are interested in tennis then contact the club via:

Finally, once you have spent a couple of hours on the bowling green or the court, then you can enjoy the benefits of the clubhouse lounge and bar, where you can tell members of your exploits.
We all really hope to see you down at the beautiful surroundings of the Ardgowan Club soon.
