PROMENADE Cafe Planning Application Is Withdrawn

17 November, 2021 | Local, Planning

AN application to open a café in a derelict building by the Clyde at Gourock has been withdrawn.

The proposal, lodged with the planning department in May, involved premises at 93 Albert Road, at the start of Ashton Promenade.

Drawings submitted to Inverclyde Council planning department at the time showed the premises would have five tables.

Inverclyde’s planning website now indicates that the application has been withdrawn meaning officials will not be issuing a decision on the proposal.

No reason is given for the change of heart. Three public objections had been made against the plan.

Planners gave permission in 2014 for the building to be used as a cafe although that proposal also didn’t go ahead.
