Inverclyde Now Logo ‘PROHIBITED Firearm’ Spotted At Port Glasgow Man’s House By Police During Disturbance

POLICE who gave a drunk Port Glasgow man a lift home allegedly discovered an air rifle and ammunition.

Officers were called by staff at Inverclyde Royal Hospital on Sunday afternoon because of an intoxicated male causing a nuisance outside the casualty area.

Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: “On returning this male to his home at Court Road he allegedly became verbally abusive and aggressive towards officers and was arrested.

“During the struggle officers allegedly observed an air rifle and shotgun cartridges and as such obtained a search warrant to recover these items.”

The 40-year-old was charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition and disorder.

He is scheduled to appear at court on a later date.
