PORT Otters Enjoy Success With West Of Scotland Swim Team

ELEVEN members of Port Glasgow Otters were selected to represent the West of Scotland Swim Team at the first National Summer Games 2023.

The event was staged by Scotland Learning Disability Sport at the Stirling University Sports Campus.

It was an extremely tough and challenging competition with five regions competing in the 60 events.

Port Otters won 27 medals – 10 gold, 10 silver and seven bronze.

Every swimmer medalled and several personal best times were secured.

Paige McLean: 50m Breaststroke – Gold; 50m Backstroke – Bronze; 100m Freestyle – Silver

Ross O’Donnell: 200m Freestyle – Silver; 50m Breaststroke – Bronze; 50m Backstroke – Bronze; 100m Freestyle – Bronze

Stephen Coyle: 200m Freestyle – Gold; 50m Backstroke – Bronze

The club thank Inverclyde Leisure for facilitating additional training sessions at the Waterfront and Smiths of Greenock who produced the team t-shirts for the entire West of Scotland squad.
