POLICE Arrest Woman For Alleged False Report Of Town Centre Knife FightA WOMAN was arrested for allegedly wasting police time after falsely reporting a stabbing.
Police received calls from a female allegedly reporting an ongoing fight involving a male with a knife in West Stewart Street, Greenock on Monday night.
Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: “Several resources attended immediately however there was no trace of any disturbance.
“CCTV review and significant further enquiry were conducted which showed no incident had occurred.
“Officers traced a female caller standing nearby.”
She was held in police custody.
