THREE Morton players have signed contract extensions, but the club have lost striker George Oakley.

Midfielder Cameron Blues has agreed a two-year deal, keeping him at Cappielow until 2026. The 26-year-old joined the Ton in 2019 and has made more than 150 appearances. He made 47 appearances last season alone, scoring twice.

Meanwhile, defender Kirk Broadfoot has also agreed a one-year extension. Manager Dougie Imrie said: “I am delighted to have Kirk sign on for another season. Kirk is a very experienced player who has played at the top level and that professionalism and knowledge is invaluable to the team.”

And club captain Grant Gillespie has committed for another year. He will go into his third season having made more than 75 appearances for the club.

Imrie added: “To have Grant sign on for another season is a real boost to the squad. He is another player with experience that will continue to benefit the rest of the boys. Grant becomes the third player to extend today alongside Kirk and Cameron and this helps to keep a great core group in the squad.”

Ayr United announced that Oakley has signed for them on a pre-contract agreement, until 2026
